Kind and most Patient Friends,
Reports of my demise have been at least modestly exaggerated. Here’s a scan of the Sunrise Horseman from Vasilisa the Beautiful (my increasingly tattered dummy thereof) just to let you know I’m still kicking. More anon, but for now:

Oh this is beautiful, a picture of olden times still living somewhere if we knew where to look. With some echoes of Nielsen, Bilibin, and Rackham. Are you illustrating the whole story and publishing it?

I think I might like to live within that picture of olden times and then again, I think not; however, if I lived therein I wouldn't know thereout, so I might like to live therein. It's so beautiful.

Thanks so much, Fran! No better company to be found, for me, than Nielsen, Bilibin and Rackham. I do hope to get this out into the world one day, as a book. It almost went, long time back, but another version of the same tale had just come out. Meantime, I do intend to complete the tale, even if it's just as a set of prints. About half the tale is drawn...

Ah, Lynda -- one word: dentistry. When I long too much for residence Therein, I think "dentistry." :-)
